About Kataldhar

Kataldhar is located in Ulhas Valley near Lonavala on the route toward Udhewadi Village base village for Rajmachi Fort. A trek start from Fanasrai Village there is only one route to reach Kataldhar Waterfall. The waterfall is seasonal and available only during the monsoon season and the waterfall level completely depends on rains. It drains very quickly and can go dry if the rains stop for a few weeks. Kune Waterfall and Kataldhar Waterfall feed Ulhas River which flows till Thane and Vasai Creek.

Kataldhar is a waterfall located nearby Lonavala in Maharashtra state, which eventually becomes the monsoon trekking paradise due it’s its quaint location and inexplicable beauty. Kataldhar is made up of two words basically, “Katal” means a wall of rock, and “Dhar” means waterfall.

Train Time Table

We will be boarding the below train from the nearest local station. Train timings are shared below for convenience:

05:40 am: CSMT

05:51 am: Dadar

06:14 am: Thane

06:33 am: Kalyan

07:13 am: Karjat

07:58 am : Lonavala Jn.

Itinerary

08.00 am Meet the team and move towards the base village

09.00 am Reach Base village and have breakfast

10:00 am Move towards Kataldhar Waterfall

11:00 am Reach Kataldhar waterfall and have a break for around 1.30 hr

12.30 am Start return Journey to the base village

01:30 pm Reach base village, take some rest along with the lunch break

02:30 pm Move towards Lonavala station

03:30 pm Reach Lonavala and bid adieu with a promise to meet soon.

Torch with extra batteries

Identity Proof

2/3 liters water (Very Important)

Good trekking shoes (Very Important)

Extra pair of Floaters/Sandals.

Some Dry Fruits / Dry Snacks / Energy Bars

Some ready-to-eat food (Like plum cakes, biscuits, etc.)

A haversack to put all your belongings in. Keep your hands free while trekking

Double pack your valuables/phones in plastic bags

Rain is expected, so pack your bags accordingly to save them from getting wet

Trek India Event Rules

The Trek Leader's Decision will be final, members should abide by it.

Any addiction is strictly prohibited, e.g. drinking, smoking, chewing tobacco anyone caught doing it will have to exit the trek without a refund and travel back at their own expense.

Kindly carry one Identity proof, at least for the trek with your address.

People caught smoking or drinking alcohol will be asked to exit the event on an immediate basis

If you are late for the bus pickup and are not reachable on the phone during your bus pickup, the trek leader will leave without you, and we will provide no refund.

Please check things to carry and wear trekking shoes on our treks.
