A bringer of prosperity and joy, Kolam art is a traditional art form of Tamil Nadu. Even today millions of households in Tamil Nadu draw kolams on the ground with white rice flour. Even though, the drawings get walked on, washed out in the rain, or blown around in the wind; new ones are made the day after.

In the kolam patterns, many designs are derived from magical motifs and abstract designs blended with philosophic and religious motifs which have been mingled together.

This is a two-day online workshop (one and a half hour each day on zoom)

It is a live session and no recordings will be provided.

The workshop will be conducted in English.

7-8 different types of designs

Day – 2

2 final compositions

List of Material Needed

4 Sheets – Basic Drawing Paper or any Paper available

1 Coloured A4 size sheet for final Drawing (preferably Black, if not even white paper is fine)

Pencil

Eraser

Scale

Poster colors / Acrylic colors

Paint brushes – round – size 1,2

Pen – Pigment pen, Micro-tip pen.

Date: 10th & 11th September, 2020 on Zoom

Time: 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

It might exceed by 15 mins since we will be teaching the details.

Fees: ₹900/-

The artwork may or may not finish during the session. We shall start and finish as much as possible and send you a complete image of what is taught during the session.
