About the Event
What is Mindfulness:
The word mindfulness is everywhere and it’s generating a lot of buzz. But what is mindfulness? And how can we practise it through our daily activities? Mindfulness is a process where we learn to be present non-judgementally in our self and to the different aspects of the self such as the mind or the body. It makes us more self-aware and pay close attention to what we need and want. When practised through everyday activities, it helps us disengage from our automated routine and experience our moments more consciously thereby making our lives all the more richer. The process is known to have a number of immediate benefits such as stress relief, lowered anxiety, and disconnecting from all the uncontrollable thoughts in the mind. In the long term, these simple tools help us take control of our days and redesign our lives to achieve our full potential.
What we'll do:
We'll attempt to explore ourselves through the practice of a few simple mindfulness exercises (breathing, writing, and visualization). We'll seek expression of those thoughts and emotions through a bunch of very simple, fun, and indulgent creative activities. We’ll track our journey through the session to make the experience more tangible. No prior experience required.
