Radio Mirchi celebrates the opulence of iconic Folk & Sufi legends on 31st March in Delhi at the Mirchi Roohani Shaam. The line-up of artists promises to make this one of the most exclusive musical offerings in the city. The festival features the Gurdas Maan, Manganiyar Seduction, Harshdeep Kaur & more and promises to be one of the most special live music experiences for Delhi. On 31st March experience music that touches your soul..
One of the most defining singers of modern Punjabi music, Gurdas Maan has recorded over 34 albums and has written over 305 songs, many of them evergreen, energetic and fresh. He is the only Punjabi singer to bag a national award for Best Male Playback Singer at 54th National Film Awards (2007) for building the entire narrative through his singing of Heer in Waris Shah: Ishq Daa Waaris.
Manganiyar Seduction
This dramatic concept creates an inspiring and colourful union between the Manganiyar's music and the visual seduction of Amsterdam 's red light district, with visual cues from the Hawa Mahal.
Each musician from the Manganiyar troupe occupies a beautifully lit box, 36 of which are arranged in rows. The concert begins when a single cubicle lights up, and the first singer begins his song. Soon, another cubicle lights up and then another, creating a dramatic and astounding build-up of musical instruments and voices as the Manganiyar music fills up the audiences hearts.
Harshdeep Kaur :
Harshdeep Kaur is a playback singer known for her Bollywood songs in Hindi, Punjabi and Sufi. She is popularly called "Sufi Ki Sultana", a name from her soulful Sufi renditions. Other languages she has recorded in are Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujrati, and Bengali. She has worked with some of the leading music directors like A R Rahman, Vishal-Shekhar, Amit Trivedi and Shankar Ehsaan Loy. She's among few Indian singers to sing in a Hollywood movie with R.I.P., on the soundtrack of Oscar winner director Danny Boyle’s film 127 Hours.
