About the Event
The Mughal House established itself in India in the 16th century and left behind a chequered history that has now been vividly illustrated and richly retold in The Book of Emperors. In this specially-curated heritage walk at the Mehrauli Archaeological Park, join itihāsology’s founder, Eric Chopra, author Ashwitha Jayakumar, and illustrator Nikhil Gulati, as they take you through the many stories that shaped the lives of the Mughals. From the tomb of Jamali-Kamali to the tomb of Quli Khan, become a part of an experience that travels through centuries — a journey from 1526 to 1858.
As part of the walk, you'll experience the grandeur of Mehrauli as the Qutb Minar begins to glow in the evening, hear captivating stories from the Mughal House, and receive personalised signed copies by the author and illustrator of the book—all included with your ticket, along with the iconic itihāsology postcards!
About the Walk Curators & Producers

He also writes and curates for numerous festivals & events focused on heritage and the arts.
Ashwitha Jayakumar has written and adapted over a dozen books for young readers on history, mythology and science. After graduating with a master’s degree in Literature and Society: 1688–1900 from the University of Edinburgh, she taught English literature to secondary school students and worked in publishing before doing an MA in medieval studies from the University of Leeds entirely for fun. She’s mad about history, fantasy novels, chocolate and dogs.
