Mullayanagiri, stands proudly as the highest peak in Karnataka. It's nearly 1930 m high and is situated in Chikmagalur district. The Caves and temple atop, brings a touch of reality to the unearthly yet enticing atmosphere.

Around 280 km from Bangalore lies this soothing and enchanting place, a perfect spot for a weekend getaway if you are looking for some revelation. Vast meadows and Waterfall are few of the pleasures that the trail offers. Baba Budangiri also known as Datta peeta along with mullayanagiri crest encompasses Chikmagalur, favoring the spot with an extraordinary atmosphere, consistently. This approx. 15 km trek is a must have experience that awaits for the ones who call themselves "Wanderer".

Day 0: Start from Bangalore on the Friday night to reach Mullayanagiri Homestay the next morning.

Day 1: Freshen up as we reach the Homestay. Start the trek after a quick breakfast, with packed lunch for the road. The steep and misty mountain brings a great deal of fun in the picture, enough to drive the mundane sentiments away. The hilly terrain can be slippery amid the monsoons. Nonetheless the beauty is captivating, passing by the low lying grasses, and the coffee estates. Upon reaching the peak, explore the Caves and whisper your prayers at the temple and prepare to descend. Have lunch at the base and make your way towards Buttermilk Falls, followed by the trek to Bababudangiri. Mullayanagiri to Bababudangiri trail is quite an exhilarating one. This stretch includes climbing along the grand and steep rough edges of Bababudangiri. Explore the hilltop once you reach the peak. Make your way to the Homestay, where hot dinner, campfire and warm beds awaits.

Day 2: Wake up for some delicious breakfast and prepare to check out. Pay a visit to the Belur Temple and Yagachi dam on the way back to Bangalore.
