BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM: Nainital is also known as the ‘Lake City of India’. It is situated at the altitude of 6840 ft in the Kumaun part of the Uttarakhand. Sorrounded by towering snowy peaks, fruit orchards and thick coniferous forest. According to the sayings, Nainital has derived its name from the Goddess Naina Devi but many more people are believes that when the goddess Sati lost her eyes, she was being carried By lord Shiva and a lake was formed. Naina Devi means eyes and Tal means lake. It is a small town surrounded by seven hills, known as ‘Sapta-Shring’’- Ayarpata,Deopata,Handi-Bandi,Naina, Alma, Lariya-Kanta and Sher-Ka-Danda.

Nainital winter trek is one of our oldest trek, which we did last in 1997. This trek route is very peaceful and maximum part is surrounded by the dense forest. People who likes to spend times with wildlife feeling and gossip sounds of birds will enjoy this beautiful trek.

DAY WISE SCHEDULE:

Day 1: Reporting at Base Camp Youth Hostel Nainital.

Day 2: Acclimatization walk, Orientation.

Day 3: Trek to KILBURY(7332 FT) from Youth Hostel Nainital (10 km), 6-7 hours

Day 4: Trek to Ghuggu Kham (7188 FT )from KILBURY (8 km)6 hours Aprox.

Day 5: Trek To Ratighat (3600 FT )From Ghuggu Kham (10 km),6 hours Aprox.

Day 6: Transfer to Base camp Nainital by Bus 24km,Group breaks after Lunch

HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP:The base camp is located at Youth hostel Nainital, 200 meters behind the High Court of Nainital and 3 Km from the Nainital bus stand. Nearest railway stations are Kathgodam (31 Km) and Haldwani (41 Km). Direct Bus and train services are available from Delhi.

HOW TO JOIN: Members desirous of joining the programme may apply through online, on a prescribed Registration Form duly supported by a Medical Certificate.

CANCELLATION RULES:

In case you are unable to join this trek, you will get a refund of 50% of Fees Amount provided when your request is received through online link (CLICK HERE) & offline booking should be come through the post directly at the National Office-New Delhi, on or before 30th December 2019. After this date no refund application will be considered. Any unforeseen event / strike or natural calamity/medical unfitness will not be considered as a cause of cancellation.
