Inmates: TVF's Desi Spin On Friends

What?

Growing up watching Friends, you've always dreamed of what it'd be like to share an apartment with your buddies. However, the relatability with heir lifestyle is a little low. Thanks to TVF, now we have a desi version of the iconic sitcom. Not take right out from the series, Inmates is original in the narrative, but the central plot remains the same - friends and one madhouse.

Why Watch?

For the characters: You'll find each one in your group of friends. Rahul, the struggling actor, Maddy, the IITian who now works at a start-up with zero experience with women, Fooga, the unkempt fat guy in shorts who's looking for his father and traces him using conspiracy theories, Richa, a casting director with a knack for verbal abuse and a favourite 'c' word, Kay, the stunning new entry and Fooga's half-sister.

For the Indianness: Their struggles are universal - job issues, women issues, parent issues, but their reactions are way Indian in nature. Handling problems, supporting each other, bringing out each other's worst, often the best - the five of them with their individual traits make for every 21st-century Indian millennial.

For the punches: Humour is not constant throughout the episode, but the one-liner punches manage to bring out a few chuckles. If nothing, you'll definitely get a few lines that you can use to insult your friends!
