NEW WORLD ORDER 14.0 presenting Dirge, Midhaven, The Earth Below & Guns From Countryside at AntiSOCIAL, Mumbai! Strap in for a night of headbanging and heavy soundscapes!
DIRGE
A five-piece doom, sludge, post-metal band from Mumbai, India. Since their formation in 2014. Dirge has risen to prominence as one of Mumbai's most acclaimed post-metal bands. Their unique blend of doom rock, metal and psychedelic sludge has captivated audiences throughout the Indian underground scene.
Following the release of their debut album Ah Puch, the band release their highly anticipated self-titled album in March 2023, on Immersive Sounds representing a sonic journey of discovery for the quintet, unlike their debut which drew inspiration from Maya myths and South American Jungles. Dirge delved inward while simultaneously reflecting the world at large. Compromising of four explosive tracks and clocking in at just over forty minutes Dirge showcases the band's exceptional talent and unique sound.
MIDHAVEN
Midhaven strives to bring new sounds with an "Indic" Touch to the world of heavy music. The band's strength was birthed in a confluence of heavy, western music - blended with Indian 'Ragas', creating evergreen, earth shattering art with every release.
A musical fusion that defies cultural boundaries and consistently breaks new ground! Midhaven showcases the harmonious blend of metal's raw energy and the profound emotions of Indian ragas, intertwining them to create an intoxicating and unforgettable auditory experience.
THE EARTH BELOW
The Earth Below originally established in 2010 as a creative outlet for multi-instrumentalist, Deepak Raghu –best known locally as serial drummer for the likes of Shepherd and Bevar Sea – The Earth Below is perhaps one of Mumbai’s most captivating solo projects. The Earth Below is a power trio with Deepak Raghu on Vocals and Bass, Ashish Dharkar on guitars and Shreyansh Kejriwal on drums, channelling it’s myriad of influences into a heavy wall of sound psychedelic experience rooted in sludge, stoner rock and doom metal.
From his debut EP ‘Aleph’ (2010) and ‘Window Lights for Wanderers’ (2017), to ‘Dreams of A Thousand Stillness’ (2018), Raghu has traversed a cornucopia of musical styles and movements over the past decade.
With the first album ‘Nothing Works Vol 2: Hymns for Useless Gods’ (2020), the band has explored jazz, psychedelic rock and the heavier side of a six string to pitch a weightier, more complex sound.
GUNS FROM COUNTRYSIDE
Guns From Countryside are a power trio formed in 2016 from Rinchenpong, West Sikkim. Although they started off as a typical rock n roll band they have slowly expanded their sound towards sludge, stoner rock, blues rock and hard rock striking a fine balance between all of these genres and reinventing their sound.
With two singles and their debut album "Cahoot With The Devil" released last year they are force to be reckoned with their fuzz-laden riffs.
