Akkad Bakkad - A live streamed video exhibition

Here’s presenting No Man’s Land -— an evening of live streamed VJ sets, using the publicly available internet archive, to take you through video collages in an attempt to re-contextualise, juxtapose and bring to the surface new reflections on land. 

This is a second iteration of our live online exhibition, Akkad Bakkad, that took place earlier this year. 

Historically, no man’s land has been an area between disputing zones. One that is desolate and unowned. ‘Akkad Bakkad: No man’s land’ is a reflection on our relationship to our land, ancestry, histories of migration, governance and power. It encompasses, but is not limited to, what our subcontinental land holds, from borders, secularity, ideas of freedom and ownership to water and crops. 

The stream will take form as a multi-channel screen of videos, sound, text, images, memes and more to present new fragments of thought around this discourse. Unlike the last time, curators will be visible whilst performing their sets, live from interim space’s broadcasting stage. Each curator brings their own unique perspective to their session.
