About Rohit Nair:

Rohit Nair is a screenwriter and improv artist. He has been improvising since 2013, co-founded Improv Comedy Bangalore and he has represented India at the Second City stage in Chicago, USA. He's a graduate of the famed AIB First Draft program, has worked as a content lead for Maddock Films and as a writer for Dharma Productions. His recent projects include 'Murder Mubarak', 'Sector 36', and most recently, co-writing for Amazon Prime's 'Call Me Bae'.

About the workshop:

In this workshop, we'll take improv performances and shape them into structured sketches. From there, we’ll explore how to develop these sketches into longer stories and screenplays. Throughout the intensive, we’ll focus on performing, editing, and identifying strong sketches, then zoom out to see how they fit into a larger narrative. You’ll learn key elements that enhance scenes—whether in improv, sketch writing, or crafting longer stories. We’ll explore what binds a story together, ensuring each part serves the whole. We’ll also dive into the writing process behind 'Call Me Bae', discussing how some of its most iconic scenes came to life. You'll see which moments began purely as improv, and how we shaped them into polished scenes.
