Monsoon Trek to Peb (Vikatgad) Fort

Peb Fort / Vikatgad Fort is located in Matheran Hill station. Peb fort height from sea level about 2100 feet. Peb Fort/Vikatgad is one of the best trekking spot for one day trekkers. Peb fort trek take about 2 to 3hrs to reach at Peb devi Temple. The trek path to Vikatgad is along deep ravines and cliffs. Large number of trekkers comes on weekends. Very less history about this fort is available. This fort got the name from Pebi Devi goddess. This fort has store rooms for storing food grains and ammunition. This fort was visited by Captain Dickinson in 1818.
