About Ajoba Hill

Ajoba Hill stands at a height of 4511 ft in the Sahyadri range of the Western Ghats. The base village is Dehaene in the Shahapur Taluka. Local Folklore is that Goddess Sita stayed here during her exile after separation from Lord Rama. Here, we see Valmiki Ashram and the cave where Sita lived with her twins Luv and Kush (the locals insisted on calling them Luv and Ankush). Luv Kush use to address Saint Valmiki as Ajoba which means grandfather in Marathi and hence the hill got the name as Ajoba Hill. It has been said by the local community that the Samadhi of Valmiki increases in size after every few years.

Board the second last compartment from Kasara side which is the second one from CST side. Everybody will board the same local and we can meet in the train itself.

09.30 am Reach top Explore Ajoba gad and take blessings

10.30 am Start Descending

12.30 pm Reach Base Village and have Lunch

01.30 pm Start Towards Asangaon

03.00 pm Reach station and catch train for Mumbai with good memories

Medicine those if u require usually (Optional)

Camera(Optional)

A good trekking shoes, extra pair of floaters, extra clothes.

A haversack to put in all the things to be carried so that one has ones hands free while trekking.

Pleases do not carry sling bags or Jholas.

Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.

Rains are expected, so pack your bags accordingly to save them from getting wet. Double pack your valuables in plastic bags.
