This is a Beginner’s photography workshop where you will

• Learn to compose photographs that are visually interesting, and understand how your camera works
• Learn Aperture / shutter and ISO the 3 important light modules
• Learn tips and tricks in photography
• Understand natural light
• Learn backlighting/silhouette by using exposure

The first half of this workshop will involve detailed walkthrough about the theory, and the second half will involve exchanging topics, participants taking photos around the area, and critiquing. 

Please bring your camera along for this workshop. It can be a DSLR/mirrorless, a point-and-shoot camera or any smartphone having portrait mode and night mode. Minimum age to join the workshop is 14 years. Lunch-on-the-go will be provided during the workshop.

About facilitator:

Meghna Shirish Iyer is a photographer and an educator specializing in visual storytelling. She has a minimalistic approach to capturing images using techniques that often foray into aspects of lighting. Her work ranges from storytelling, portraiture, commercial photography, and fine art photography. Meghna studied visual arts in Bangalore and has a Master’s in Professional Photography from Instituto of European di design, Madrid, Spain. 

She has trained under and worked with well-known professional photographers worldwide. She also teaches and prepares many individuals in the field of photography. Meghna's photography has been displayed at many exhibitions in India, the United States, and Qatar and her workshops have taken her across many countries. 

One of her most notable works includes a series of images called Nine. She captured the beautiful moments of a mother birthing a child. For these images, she was awarded a jury commendation by TOTO Awards.
