Season 3 saw 500 plus bands register with us from across India. From bands who define their genre as happy music to rap metal, death metal, pop, rock, we have seen a plethora of genres so far.
A plethora of talent and genres
Says Vipin Pungalia- Director (Professional Segment), Sennheiser, "The response we have seen across the 3 seasons has been exceptional. We started with a digital only property in Season 1 and we got 218 bands register with us. In Season 2, we took it offline where Top 5 bands competed for the top 5 spots – from a massive 350 plus bands that registered with us. Season 3 saw 500 plus bands register with us from across India. From bands who define their genre as happy music to rap metal, death metal, pop, rock, we have seen a plethora of genres so far. It's great to see so many genre of bands participating with us. When it comes to bands, we get a mix of them too – well established bands like Junkyard Groove to bands like Parvaaz or When Chai Met Toast which are quite popular, to women -only bands – we have seen a great mix indeed."
Meet the four bands that'll be competing for the top spot this time!
And along with great music, there are great stories as well. For instance, the winner from North - Knight Shades was formed by a bunch of 13-year-old kids passionate about music who, at that point of time had no knowledge of instruments whatsoever.
It's only going to get better.
Says Pungalia, "We are focused on promoting independent music scene in India and hence will look at ways to engage more with the bands. The response of Season 3 has been much more than what we expected. We hope to make it bigger and better in the coming season and expand our initiative to give the musicians the best experience when it comes to audio products by introducing them to Sennheiser early on in their journey. We are also planning to do more on-ground events and create more initiatives with the independent bands."
And let's not forget the headliners!
