The Royal Opera House, Mumbai, presents ‘Natyadhara- A Presentation of Regional Performative Art’, a thoughtfully curated monthly series of multilingual regional art performances across diverse genres with the first season from Sept 1st to Sept 3rd presented in collaboration with Astitva, Avid Learning, Curated Classics, and Mumbai Theatre Guide. 

About Prem Ramayan:

From his extensive research on Ramayan, Atul Satya Koushik, ace theatre writer, director and producer, offers Prem Ramayan. In this live show, he picks "Stories of love" from the epic and narrates them in his inimitable style. The show has elements of live singing (both folk and classical) with exquisitely choreographed dance pieces and spell binding theatrical performances by seasoned actors. A true representation of glorious Indian traditional art forms along with age-old Indian stories of divine love, this show is bound to transport the audience to a different era and give them a mesmerising experience.

The play, which is narrated by Atul Satya Koushik, begins with various poems and songs and then takes the audience on a journey of various unheard stories and perspectives about various stories of love. It includes five major stories:

1. अकाल - Story of Shanta and Rishi Shringi

2. रथ स निकल पहिया - Story of Kaikeyi and Dashrath

3. स्वर और शांति - Story of Ram and Sita

4. उल्टी करवट मत सोना - Story of Laxman and Urmila

5. उस पार - Story of Meghnad and Sulochana
