The third webinar of the Pune Monsoon Watch Series will address the experiences of NGOs which provided aid in the form of hygienic food and shelter. They also undertook rescue operations for people and animals, during the 2019 Pune floods. Join the conversation with Pari Hamdule, Suchismita Pai, Mayur Bagul and Uma Khare to understand their learnings, their preparedness for future floods and how you can get involved.
Suchismita Pai is working as the Head- Outreach for SWaCH Co-operative, Pune. SWaCH is India’s first cooperative owned and run by waste pickers and urban poor. Suchismita is actively involved in communication and outreach on gender and social causes.
Pari Hamdule is the Founder and President of the Tuba Foundation, working for women empowerment, health, sanitation and holistic development for all genders. She is also the Chairman of 'Eldershelf', an organization that produces personal hygiene kits and related products.
Mayur Bagul is the secretary of Udaykal foundation. The Foundation works for sustainable development in the areas of environment, education, health and livelihood. Mayur is also a visiting faculty at the Tilak Maharashtra Social Work College, Pune.
Uma Khare is an active part of Jeevitnadi, an organization working to make Mula-Mutha river a 'living river' with community participation. In the 2019 floods, she has worked extensively for the relief works in the areas of Sangali, Kolhapur and Pune.
