About the event :

Qawwali is a Sufi expression of devotion, known as “path of the heart”.From shrines to Bollywood, qawwali music and lyrics have been widely loved by everyone. We bring to you, a Sufi Qawwali night called `Noor - The Light of Sufis`, performed by the very amazing Bangalore based due Hemant Raagi and Shreyas.

In this intimate concert, the performers will present sufi and qawwali inspired compositions from across times and of legends like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and a few others. We will invoke the spirit of Sufi tradition of singing along and rejoicing these wonderful compositions, together.

About the Artists :

Hemant raagi (vocalist & harmonium) is a lead singer. He has been a shortlisted finalist of Sur swar sadhana reality show and has performed widely India, He mostly perform Sufi Bollywood and ghazals in Hindi and Punjabi Language, he also runs a music academy called `Ibadat`. He performs widely through his band called `The Raagi Project`. He will be accompanied by Shreyas, a very talented tabla artist, who plays for many bands in the city and is a vocalist himself.
