Koyna white water river rafting is recreational outdoor activity which use an inflatable raft to navigate a river. This is often done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water.

A raft guide is a trained professional capable of leading commercial Koyna white water rafting trips.Guides sitting in a normal side paddling position draw by reaching out, making the path of the blade, perpendicular to the centerline of the raft.

Age Limit For River Rafting: Rafting can be enjoyed by all those who are above 12 years of age. It is always advisable to select a rafting stretch according to your age. Age groups less than 12 And more than 65 years are not allowed in the high-volume rapids.

The Koyna River is a main tributary of the Krishna River which originates in Mahableshwar, Satara district, western Maharashtra, India. It rises near Mahabaleshwar, a famous hill station in the Western Ghats. Unlike most of the other rivers in Maharashtra which flow East-West direction, the Koyna river flows in North-South direction.

Koyna river is known as the Life Line of Maharashtra.The river is just about 100 meters in width. The dam constructed over koyna river is the largest dam in Maharashtra which produces electricity and known as the main source of the power supply to the state.

A wide biodiversity of plants and animals is observed in the evergreen forest surrounding the river.The sanctuary has a diverse variety of mammals including the keystone species, Bengal tigers, Indian leopards, Indian gaur, sloth bears, sambar deer, rabbit, barking deer and mouse deer, Indian bison, gray langurs, porcupine, smooth-coated otters and Indian giant squirrels are common, and It's also a bird watcher's paradise, with over 300 species of birds, including the heart-spotted woodpecker, long-tailed nightjar, and the rare rufous-bellied eagle.

There are around 6-7 Rapids from village Wada to village Birmani (Bridge)during the rafting of 13kms in River Koyna.

WATER BALLOON- 

On still water. Allowed only for children. Age group : 8 and above.

Time duration: 1 hour, 

Cost: ₹200/- per child.

PACKAGE- just ₹3500/- per person. 

Note- For Photos and videos there will be extra charge-₹1500/- per raft. Photos and videos will be recorded by go pro camera.
