About the Event
All humans, regardless of how old we are or where we come from, have a very special relationship in our lives - our relationship with nature. This thought-provoking session, based on author Meghaa Gupta’s critically and commercially acclaimed book Unearthed: An Environmental History of Independent India, published by the children’s imprint of Penguin Random House, discusses how this relationship between humans and nature has influenced Independent India's history.
Facilitators
Meghaa Gupta holds an MA in Environmental Humanities and works extensively at the intersection of literature, environmentalism and history. She curates the Nature Writing for Children programme at Azim Premji University and has co-founded a transnational literary exchange programme for young people’s literature at Bath Spa University in the UK. Meghaa founded the young people’s programme at India’s first Green Literature Festival and headed it till 2023. She is the author of critically and commercially acclaimed books for young readers, including a history series on Independent India published by Penguin Random House.
