The Sar Pass trek derives its name from ‘Sar’, which means lake. The ‘Sar’ which is mostly frozen till summer needs to be crossed by trekkers and hence the name ‘Sar Pass Trek’. This trek is a diversified trail through deep forests, undulating meadows, snowy mountains and charming villages. The trail takes you from the village of Kasol to forests and steep rocky terrains to long stretches of snow on the Pass Day.

Itinerary
Day 1: Mumbai to Delhi
Meet Pravaasah Team at 3:30 PM at Bandra Station for all who are starting from Mumbai and we leave for Delhi & spend overnight in Train.
Day 2: Delhi tom Bhuntar
We reach Delhi at 9:40 AM and all those joining from Delhi meet your Trip leader at Majnu Ka Tila by 4:30 PM to board the bus to Bhuntar.
Day 3: Bhuntar to Kasol
After our arrival at Bhuntar we transfer to Kasol. We freshen up and let our soul feel the peace by the views from Kasol. We need acclimatization and so we go for a little walk to Chalal village.
Day 4: Kasol to Grahan Village
The trail starts from Kasol and keeps along the Grahan nalah and then comes the rocky hill climbing, away from the bank of the river. Soon, the trees give way to grass and shrubs. Once reaching the village of Grahan, which is situated on top of a hill, we camp there overnight.
Day 5: Grahan to Min Thatch
We start from our camping ground at Grahan up north, walking for a while; your eyes will be treated with the view of Min Thatch, Nagaru, and Sar Top on the mountain to the right. The trail keeps getting steeper and leads us into woods, a dense forest with very little sunlight peeking. But after some more wandering, the woods open up to a grassy patch on a ridge, which is Min Thatch.
Day 6: Min Thatch to Nagaru
From Min Thatch to Nagaru, it might not seem too far but the route is very thrilling as it goes south, towards the cliffs and goes into the woods. There comes another ridge-line after some walking which is overlooking a grassy meadow down in the distance. At the top where Nagaru sits, the ridge is steep towards the east, to the cliffs. A steep climb awaits you until you get to Nagaru, just a couple of hours away.
Day 7: Nagaru to Sar Pass
The trail to Sar Pass goes on to the ridge-line in a southward direction. Here you could easily walk on the snow with the most beautiful surroundings to let your spirits go high. One more hill to Climb and we reach the top of the hill and a moment of joy as we behold the sight. After a little more trekking we can see a flag tied to a ‘Trishul’ at the top. One may find a rope for climbing the slope as it is very steep by the end and completely covered in snow.
As we start downwards, there is a huge hundred feet drop and the only way is sliding down. Sounds the most exciting right! You can slide all the way to Biskeri Tatch, depending on the snow conditions. Biskeri is a typical combination of Pine trees, Mountains and grasslands.
Day 8: Biskeri Thatch to Barshaini
While going down from Biskeri, it becomes very steep and keeps to the left of the stream. Later as we proceed ahead, cross the stream and walk into a dense forest. After which we come across the path to the village Pulga.
Soon, we reach Tulga village, a clearing in the forest where all the trees have been felled.
From Tulga we cross a bridge on the river Parvati, which has been dammed ahead for a hydroelectric power project, to reach the village of Bursheni. That’s where we end our trek.
We get into out vehicle and proceed for Kasol, after which we move to Bhunter and from there our bus departs for Delhi.
