In the introduction to What Ho! The best of PG Wodehouse, Stephen Fry wrote, "If you've never read Wodehouse, what a lucky, lucky person you are!". The same can be said of those who've never seen these comedy specials before. By which we mean, what a treat awaits you.

Zakir Khan: Haq Se Single

Tanmay Bhat called him the 'biggest standup act' in the country today. And with this special, in front of a sold-out auditorium in Delhi, you will see why. Follow Zakir's unique storytelling approach to comedy as he talks about his life!

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Kanan Gill: Keep It Real

This absolutely hilarious special has some incisive observations and some of the best lines from the Indian standup scene (get a whiff of it here!). He talks about relationships, his driving incompetence, his parents, bovines and a metal documentary.

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Biswa Kalyan Rath: Biswa Mast Aadmi

If you're a fan of angry rants, then this show is for you. Biswa has garnered a cult following with his observations on bananas, cycling helmets and much, much more. Just head over and watch this.

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Kenny Sebastian: Don't Be That Guy

India's most paavam comedian covers a lot of ground in this special - including his parents, the dangers of meeting someone who's returned from Goa (see trailer on the left), moving cities and why all musicians are sad. He also gets musical.

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Aditi Mittal: Things They Wouldn't Let Me Say

One of the first few women to get into the Indian stand-up comedy scene, Aditi Mittal now has her own spot on Netflix's list of stand-up specials. Being a single woman in her 30s, being a mix of Sindhi and Punjabi, eve teasing, kids, advertisements, sex, wearing thongs are few of the many things they wouldn't let her say. Her alter ego Dr. Mrs Lutchuke takes over a good amount of the second half of the show and speaks her mind on sex, sexuality and gender norms. 'Things They Wouldn't Let Me Say' is everything a woman thinks, but can't definitely say and Aditi Mittal manages to put all of that with hilarity in this one-hour special.

Watch it on Netflix.

Varun Thakur: Vicky This Side, Varun That Side

This show has Varun and hissulf's social media alter-ego. Topics range from Varun showcasing poha to international batchmates, to Vicky talking about his misadventures with women.

Yousulves please watch it on Amazon Prime.

Azeem Banatwala: Cometh The Hour

The tallest comedian on this list, Azeem talks about road rage, things that confuse older people (like millennials' love for emoji and dancing at EDM events) and of course, the perils of married life.

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Vir Das: Abroad Understanding

One of the most unique (and ambitious!) comedy specials - Vir Das records 2 shows 7000 km apart (Delhi, New York) to 'see if the same material works in two different countries'. He talks globalization, homophobia, politics and food in this hour-long special.

Watch it on Netflix.

Sapan Verma: Obsessive Comedic Disorder

This is a show about Sapan's everyday struggles: Finding a new friend married each time he logs on to Facebook, house-hunting, his own anxiety issues and more. If you're a 90s kid, you'll relate to a lot of this!

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Sorabh Pant: My Dad Thinks He's Funny

The founder of EIC himself has a hilarious new special where he talks about his life as a new dad. Along the way, he also roasts engineers, looks at how schools prepare you for life, and the salient differences between boys and girls.

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Anuvab Pal: Alive At 40

One of India's most erudite comedians puts together what he's best known for: A comedic look at history (he'll change your perspective of the British Empire, for one), his struggles at 'old' age (being an entertainer at 40 is not easy!) and his constant befuddlement with the city of Mumbai.

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

EIC: Outrage

If you want to see more than one comic at a time, here, take seven. All members of East India Comedy bring the news to you, across formats - sketches, debates, stand-up. The nation did, after all, want to know.

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Naveen Richard: Don't Make That Face

If you're a fan of Mallu accents, hilarious facial expressions and a hilarious look back at school, you'll love Naveen's special. You might know him from his work on The Better Life Foundation and Starboyz - now see his hour-long special!

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Aadar Malik: Stand Up The Musical

If you like some music with your comedy, you must check out Aadar Malik - who plays four instruments (not at the same time) while making you laugh. He also speaks about being Hindu-Muslim, and talks about his life in G minor.

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

S Aravind: Madrasi Da

For a healthy dose of South Indian humour, look no further than this. From breaking stereotypes to introducing new ones - all with a generous dose of Tamil accent. Enjai.

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Neville Shah: What Are You Laughing At?

If you want some darker comedy, then check this out. When your show starts with "One year ago, my mom died", you know you're in for something out of the ordinary. Neville looks at the school games played by boys & girls, condolence calls and more. Strap in.

Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Karthik Kumar: #PokeMe

This is described as "a Stand-Up solo show which is Pro-Maggi / Curd Rice / LGBT / Feminism. Anti-establishment. Sexy but not sexist."
