Synopsis:
"Sing A Lullaby" is a celebration of love, unity, and the timeless beauty of lullabies that cradle us to sleep, no matter where we are in the world.
Step into the enchanting world of "Sing A Lullaby," a heartwarming year-long online workshop series that emerged as a beacon of comfort during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Join the remarkable duo of Gurupriya Atreya and Vedanth Bharadwaj as they embark on a captivating exploration of lullabies, the world`s oldest genre of music. These soothing melodies, sung by parents and caregivers to lull children to sleep, hold centuries of love, wisdom, and serene imagery.
In their extraordinary journey, Gurupriya and Vedanth collected and shared 52 lullabies from 38 different languages, uniting over 450 participants from across the globe in this oasis of warmth. From the heartlands of India to the far reaches of Nepal, Mali, Trinidad, Spain, Lithuania, and beyond, "Sing A Lullaby" beautifully illustrates how love, language, and music transcend boundaries, even in the realm of virtual Zoom calls.
But this workshop series is not just about melodies; it`s about delving into the nuances of each lullaby`s native tongue and discovering the layers within its music.
Why should you attend?
Explore 3-4 lullabies in different languages and learn to sing them. Anybody can sing!!
One of the most cherished collaborations of Gurupriya and Vedanth was with children on the autism spectrum from Chennai`s V-Excel Educational Trust. Together, they created an original lullaby, a symbol of unity and shared creativity. The duo`s commitment to this project is unwavering, with the promise of releasing all the lullabies into the world. So far, they`ve shared five, with the rest in production.
Now, Gurupriya and Vedanth are taking their enchanting lullabies to live concerts and workshops, spreading their message of community, harmony, and healing. After a successful start in Bengaluru earlier, their live Lullaby concerts and workshops have traveled to Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, Mumbai, and Scotland. Join them on this magical journey where music becomes a powerful tool to build connections and embrace the soothing balm of harmony.
