About the Artists:

𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐚𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐚:

Banat started learning the harmonium at the age of five with “Kirtan” being amongst the other semi-classical musical education she was imbibed with. Her involuntary harmonium lessons as a child, stirred her interest but it was her first encounter with rock music, that pushed her to take up the guitar a few years later. Having grown up in a traditional Punjabi household, recent chain of circumstances pushed her to go back to her roots and rediscover her art. A shift from her usual music style, as she embraced her culture she carved another alcove of experience which has intensified her range as an artist.

Her work been featured on Rolling Stone India, FilterCopy, Free Press Journal among others. She was also named one of the top 10 budding female artists to watch out for by Rolling Stone India.

She is an avid animal lover and often draws inspiration from her pet cats, who are her muse for several of her compositions.

𝐘𝐮𝐠𝐦:

Yugm, is an independent folk-fusion band currently based out of Mumbai. Over the last 3 years, we have performed at a variety of festivals & events, with over 300plus performances under our belt. Yugm has grown from a small folk band to a major social influence among the youth, with songs addressing social & diffrent issues. At the 2018 Rajasthan Style Fest, Yugm was named the Best Band of Rajasthan Award.

Their music is inspired by the lives, experiences and issues of people around us. Our songs cover a wide range of topics, but we focus on prevailing social issues like water wastage or the taboo against menstruation. While we have a long way to go to spread our message, we believe every song does its own small part.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐍𝐏:

Pranita NP is a Bombay-based singer, actor, writer and arts workshop facilitator.

She is learning Hindustani classical vocal music for the past 17 years, and semi-classical music for the past 5 years.

'Rang’ is her debut folk fusion album, featured in Rolling Stone, India and Mid-day, Mumbai as well as the online literary journal, Purple Pencil Project.

She has also conceptualized and performed her own music and storytelling concerts, having taken it to Prithvi Theatre's Annual Youth Festival, Thespo '17 and Thespo '18 and Kahanikar ‘17.

She has completed her Masters' degree in Ancient Indian Culture, and holds the Visharad degree in Hindustani classical vocal music.

She has also been a part of 4 musical theatre productions as a singer and an actor - Ishq Aaha, Bade Miyan Deewane, Jungle Book, and Bandish
