After two explosive shows in a single month, Spectral Decay is back with its third concert of the year. The line-up this time around features the who's-who of doom metal in the country. Spectral Decay 3 will see the return of stoner/doom royalty BEVAR SEA, who will play their first live show in over five years, sludge metal icons DIRGE, returning to Bangalore after two long years, doom metal giants DJINN & MISKATONIC playing their first live show since 2017 & an exclusive debut live performance from drone upstarts MEGADRONE.

BEVAR SEA

stoner/doom from Bangalore

Five years after releasing their sophomore album ‘Invoke the Bizarre', Bangalore’s Bevar Sea used the Covid-imposed lockdown as an opportunity to regroup and work on the third album titled ‘The Timeless Zone.’ With the backdrop of the lyrics portraying a tryst with the consciousness of man, storying into travels and visions within the self, the music over the course of the album pays homage to the glory years of the 70s and 80s hard rock and metal with the typical rifftastic stoner/doom sound the band has embraced on the two albums prior to this. Fans can expect a proper Bevar Sea set with songs both new and old. It'll rock and it'll doom a little.

DIRGE

sludge/post-metal from Bombay

Dirge is a five-piece doom/sludge/post-metal band from Mumbai, India. Post the release of their debut album ‘Ah Puch’ in 2018 and receiving positive response and praises across the globe for their unique blend of doom, sludge & atmospheric metal, the band immediately started working on a successor with new drummer Aryaman Chatterji. With their upcoming album, the band will be seen pushing their sonic territories further into the world of post-Metal and the likes. Dirge's last performance in the country was a non-stop set of 3 shows across Chennai, Hyderabad & Bangalore along with Pacifist just before the pandemic began.

Dirge finished recording for their new album in late 2021, which will be their second official full-length release with producer Apurv Agrawal who will also be joining the band for these shows as a synth player. The band is currently working with Sanford Parker & Gaurav Basu (Acid Toad) with whom they've collaborated before for the production and artwork for the new album to be released later this year in 2022. Dirge will bring their earth-shattering sound to Bangalore after more than two years with a mix of new music and songs from their debut album.

DJINN & MISKATONIC

doom metal from Bangalore

Djinn & Miskatonic formed in 2011 as a three-piece with Jayaprakash on bass, Siddarth on drums, and Gautham on vocals. After writing a few songs and releasing a demo as a three-piece, Sriram joined the fold in 2013 on guitars as the band expanded to a quartet. The debut full-length 'Forever in the Realm' followed in 2013 on Transcending Obscurity Records and was met with mostly positive and encouraging reviews. In 2017, Djinn and Miskatonic saw another addition to the lineup with Mushaf joining as the second guitarist and the sound got louder and heavier. A year later, in 2018, the band released its second album 'Even God's Must Die', also on Transcending Obscurity Records. 2018 was a busy year for the band as it also saw the release of a split 12" with American doom band Sky Shadow Obelisk on Yuggoth Records.

Continuing the 5-year span between albums, Djinn and Miskatonic will release its 3rd album in 2023. The band will be playing songs from their first two albums and a brand new song from their third album out next year.

Spectral Decay is a Bangalore-based, completely DIY metal-punk concert series with a focus on the underground music of the subcontinent. The concert series was founded by Kaushal LS, Simon Santiago & Anoop Bhat as a means to jump-start the rather dead extreme music landscape. The first Spectral Decay concert was held on 9th May 2022.
