Spoken presents ALOK LIVE, is a poetry + comedy special encapsulating Alok's life-experiences as a South Asian Queer individual and a fashion icon,

you get to witness Alok V Menon’s unapologetic humour and powerful poetry along with other incredible artists from across the country come together for a show that will have you laughing, crying and sometimes crying laughing.

About Alok:

ALOK (they/them) is an internationally acclaimed author, poet, comedian, and public speaker. As a mixed-media artist their work explores various themes. They are the author of Femme in Public (2017), Beyond the Gender Binary (2020), and Your Wound/My Garden (2021). Over the past decade they have toured in more than 40 countries, most recently headlining the Vancouver Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and selling out their runs at the Soho Theatre in London and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They are the subject of the short documentary film ALOK, directed by Alex Hedison. executive produced by Jodie Foster and premiering at Sundance Film Festival in 2024
