TRIP OVERVIEW

We’re exploring the enchanting and not-so-well-known region of the Himalayas! Tarakund (starpond, also Shiva’s Abode) is a beautiful region of Garhwal that we’ll trek to from the base village of Antakoli, camping under the starry blanket of night skies. It’s an easy to moderate trek that anyone can go on! Not only that, we’ll go rafting in Rishikesh, live like the locals and learn farming, see Garhwali traditions of making and storing food, get into spiritual vibes and the region’s supernatural lore. This journey will change our lives AND those of the mountain people who’ll share their culture, values and stories with us.

MEET YOUR HOSTS

Pradeep is a man of the mountains, a Tarakund local. He has vast knowledge of the region and people, speaks Garhwali and makes travellers feel at home! He’ll make sure you’re immersed in local culture. Since he unfortunately studied business, he is strict with accounts & punctuality :) Be prepared for his wisecracks!

Shaldavya has travelled across the seas and plains, explored villages and tribal life, and is now exploring the Himalayas, having completed his basic mountaineering course in Kashmir. A vegetarian and a great cook, he’s good to have around when you’re craving some fun food! He’s done a Ph.D Ecology and Environment with Leopards as specialty, so he has a lot of stories! Peace, health, harmony, sustainable planet & living, and adventure are his mantra. 1Earth is their philosophy of being all inclusive and giving importance to “Vanabhu", the forest & earth.
