A corner of India that is forever France. It's time to walk barefoot on the beach again. It's time for a leisurely weekend at Pondy!
Step into Pondicherry and you'll wonder if you're in India or France. The French colonized the place a long time ago but some of that allure still hovers in this union territory located 160 kilometres south of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The architecture is French, the road signs are in French (along with English and Tamil), a lot of people speak fluent French and most restaurants serve steak and wine, a lot alike the French!
During the meetup, Muddie Trails is not responsible in case of any injuries or animal attacks or reptile bites.
Expect the unexpected in case of wild forests like the sudden closing of trek path by govt./ forest department(because of wild animal sighting/landslide/some crime), in which case they may have to cancel the trek (This is very rare - has never happened till now). In this case, the organizer will plan for alternate trek/trip. If this is not possible, then Muddie Trails will refund the remaining amount after removing the travel cost.

Avoid discussing sensitive matters like sex, politics and religion/race.
Using foul or abusive language or arguing with fellow travellers/ organizer will not be acceptable and will stand a chance of being deserted by the travel group.
2 Days/1 Night stay at the home-stay near to Auroville Ashram

How to get to the venue: Travel is included.
Slots: 12/21 (As always, we maintain good ratio of Men & women)
Accommodation: Shared accommodation at a home-stay/villa
Travel:A tempo traveller/mini bus depending on final numbers
Distance from major cities: 375 kms from Bangalore
Pick-up and Drop-off points: Tin Factory, Indiraganar, Koramangala, Silk Board
Day 1 (Saturday): Reach Pondy, Check in, freshen up, have breakfast, ride out to Auroville & take individual entry pass for Sunday. Visit Science Center & Planetarium of Pondy (This is optional based on time taken at Auroville above), ride back to Serenity Beach and have a leisurely lunch, enjoy the amazing view of the beach and take a dip. Head back to home-stay before sunset & freshen up, visit the glittering and happening Seaside Promenade (also called Rock beach) late in the evening, try delicious street food at Promenade, shop a lot at the beach side market, head back to the shack, party at night.
Day2 (Sunday): Start the day with breakfast, visit Auroville Global meditation center, and have lunch, drive to Paradise Beach and play different games on the beach, freshen up at changing rooms at Paradise beach, drive to Bakers Street (famous for it's Rum/cheese cakes) and shop at the Pondy market, have dinner & come back to home-stay. Freshen up, check out, board the shuttle to Bangalore at 10 PM.
Day 3 (Monday): Reach Bangalore by 5 AM
Important note: Entry to Auroville meditation center called "Matrimandir" is not guaranteed for everyone by Auroville Ashram. Every individual has to take his/her entry pass in-person a day before and entry inside mandir depends on individuals luck.. That's why it is included in Saturday's itinerary above.
Shades/cap/sunscreen
Fully charged mobiles with power banks - to take lot of selfies! Selfie stick or DSLR if you are interested - the mountains & the lake are extremely beautiful.
Small first aid kit if you have and your medications if any
Odomos for insects & mosquitoes
Important: Polythene covers to put used/wet clothes
An extra polythene cover to dispose your trash during trek - this is important, we have a no littering policy
Carry little bit of cash.
Don't carry expensive items
A photo ID card xerox- like Aadhar and Driving License
A light weight backpack, light weight clothes for the little humid climate out there & comfortable shoes/sandals - anything is fine as we don't have any trek to do.
Carry your jacket - it can get cold at night
A bluetooth speaker, pendrive with some music
No Luxury. Basic facilities
