About the Event
CATNIP 1.0 is the first-of-its-kind charity event for the stray animals of Mumbai, curated by The Feline Foundation – the NGO founded by Cat Café Studio. The event will feature comedians Urooj Ashfaq & Aadar Malik, and artists Kanchan Daniel and The Beards, Runt, and The Sidd Coutto Experience - all on board for one cause they care about: the welfare of strays. With a unique combination of comedy and music, we're set for an evening of good vibes, good karma and freshly brewed beer. Every ticket sold will help out a stray - it's a win-win!

2. Aadar Malik – Aadar Malik is an actor, musician, stand up comic and part of the popular comic group - SnG Comedy. He’s started off with theatre at the age of 18 and in 2011 he did his first open mic at the Comedy Store. Besides having shot for two upcoming films with Nikhil Advani and Balaji Telefilms, Aadar is also part of a play directed by Rajat Kapoor I Don’t Like As You Like It alongside Vinay Pathak, Cyrus Sahukar and many more.
3. Runt - Runt was born out of a need to create something parallel to all the other stuff that Siddharth Basrur is doing. And he’s doing a lot. It started out as just an exercise for him, trying to be a better guitarist and bassist, but then he took it up as a challenge to see how good he could get at writing and producing music that was never attempted by him. Runt's music can be described as Alternative Post Progressive Marmalade Core.
Runt’s debut EP, ’Rhymes With’ was unleashed, mid last year, to great response, and even made it to Rolling Stone’s top indie EPs of 2017. Basrur, being the band’s sole songwriter, is currently working on the band’s second EP, which should be released, early next year. It is being produced by Vishal J Singh.
4. Kanchan Daniel and The Beards - Kanchan Daniel and The Beards is a Homegrown blues rock band formed in 2012.
Their most recent and notable performances with the band include Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Mahindra Blues Festival, The Royal Opera House Mumbai, The Quarter, Echoes of Earth Festival Bangalore, PALM Expo - INDIA to name a few. Kanchans vocals have been described as a "raw silence that rips across a smooth serenade" and on numerous occasions have been compared to Janis Joplin. The bands sound can be described as a mix of soul, neo-soul, R & B with a generous helping of the blues and a side of rock.
5. The Sidd Coutto Experience - Sidd Coutto is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Mumbai most famously known as the drummer of alternative rock act Zero and as the frontman of Helga's Fun Castle. Over the past decade, Sidd has collaborated with dozens of artists, both local and international.
