As O Pedro turns one this October, we celebrate The Great Goan Jam with a feast of Goa’s undiscovered culinary offerings.

At the first Great Goan Jam, we present the culinary repertoire of Goud Saraswat Brahmins from Goa, their love for both seafood and vegetarian cuisine and their fondness for coconut and kokum.

The Saraswats flourished along the banks of the now extinct Saraswati river and a few families later migrated to the Goan shores where they mastered the art of a susegad lifestyle, catching the freshest fish, cooking local vegetables and snoozing after a meal laden with rice.

Goa based, GSB cuisine expert and home-cook Vaishali Joshi & Chef Hussain Shahzad, Executive Chef O Pedro have curated the Goud Saraswat Brahmin Jay-Vun with a Tasting Menu that comprises of home-style vegetarian and seafood specialities. Vaishali reveals the GSB culinary secrets and traditions, so you too can enjoy what the Goans ate in pre-Portuguese times.
