About The Urban Solace Book Lover's Club
The Urban Solace Book Lovers' Club started in 2010 as a result of a meet-up of writers whose stories were published in the book Chicken Soup for the Indian Teacher’s Soul. Inspired by the energy of this experience, the Urban Solace Book Lovers' Club was born. From there, it has grown from strength to strength, hosting its monthly meet on the second Sunday of every month. Over the years, the club has hosted over 50 published authors to discuss their writings. These writers were some of the best from Bangalore, India, and around the world, who have sought to experience the dynamics of our club.
Today, the Urban Solace Book Lovers' Club enjoys a loyal set of supporters and a sterling reputation as the longest-running book club in the city set in a café environment. It has been sought after by several writers from Bangalore and across the country to be featured in its experiences.
About the Book: For No Reason at All - A Curious Espionage By Ramjee Chandran
Based on true events, For No Reason at All captures the mood of the New Delhi administration, where its new, young prime minister must make a difficult decision.
In a time when global trade borders are opening, the reputable Metkem Silicon and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, collaborate to produce silicon metal locally. However, Anand Seshadri, the powerful head of the Department of Electronics, pushes to import the technology from the US.
The ‘silicon metal controversy’ erupts, and the prime minister must decide: support Indian innovation or concede to foreign imports?
When Seshadri takes drastic, underhanded measures to discredit Metkem Silicon, the task of countering him falls to Metkem’s lobbyist—a young, adroit lobbyist named Adityan ‘Solly’ Nilla.
Things get interesting when Solly receives an unexpected call from the embassy of the Soviet Union. Then the French, the Americans, and Indian intelligence got involved.
Set in 1980s New Delhi, this tale of espionage, intrigue, deception, and sexual escapade is pacy, funny . . . and sometimes touching.
