About the Event
Till Qutb Glows: Mehrauli Heritage Walk
About the Walk Curators & Producers:
Join us for a curated heritage walk at the Mehrauli Archaeological Park led by itihāsology’s very own Eric Chopra and Kudrat Singh as they take you through the many stories that shaped the oldest city of Delhi.
From the foundations of Delhi to the echoes of the Sultanate; from splendid tombs of Jamali-Kamali to Quli Khan; and from tales of sufis and saints to folklore on djinns and spirits; become a part of an architecture-centred experience that traverses centuries!
Eric Chopra is the founder of itihāsology. He completed his studies in History from St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi. His work primarily focuses on histories of art, aesthetics, monuments, emotions, sexuality, and the otherworld. Chopra is the co-host of the For Old Times’ Sake Podcast and Jaipur Literature Festival’s Jaipur Bytes Podcast. He also writes and curates for numerous festivals & events focused on heritage and the arts.
Kudrat Singh completed her undergraduate studies in History at St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi and has an MPhil in Modern South Asian Studies from the University of Cambridge. She is a travelling historian, covering architecture through photography and storytelling. She is the co-host of the For Old Times’ Sake Podcast.
Eric & Kudrat lead Itihāsology, a platform that aims to make Indian history more engaging, accessible and inclusive through writings, audio-visual content, and experiences at museums and monuments.
As a part of this walk by itihāsology, you will hear captivating stories from the Sultanate and Mughal periods, explore the colonial interventions in Delhi’s archaeological heritage, and of course, witness the Qutb Minar’s majestic glow later in the evening — a sight to behold!
The walk is produced by Excurators — a dynamic events production house acclaimed for curating a range of festivals and experiences with a focus on the arts, music, design, heritage, and more. The production leads for the walks are Rohan Singh and Amir Irshad.
