ABOUT THE TRAIL:

A beautiful hike up on the Western Ghats. It is a trail on one of the old trade routes connecting Kokan, that is on the coastal area & Ghat (Deccan plateau). A very gradual trail that has a lot of beautiful greenery around. This trail was once utilised by ferry to load goods from the ports of Kokan to the markets in Pune area. Except for locals, one would barely come across any congested place here. Grade: Easy

KIT LIST FOR MONSOON HIKES:

During the trek –

• Trekking shoes – wearing shoes is compulsory during the trail. Please ensure that the soles of your shoes are not worn out.

• Full trousers (light/ quick drying) / track pants & full sleeved T shirt/ cotton shirt (for protection against insects)

• Cap

• Wind- cheater / rain proof (no umbrellas or long rain coats)

• Water bottle (minimum 2 liters)

• Camera (optional)

• Back – pack to carry packed lunch box & water bottles (lunch boxes will be provided by Countryside)

Additional requirements:

–Should be packed in a separate plastic bag to be kept back in your vehicle. It can be collected once you come back to your vehicle after the trek.

• Extra change of clothes (to change out of your wet clothes)

• Light towel

• Floaters or slippers

SPECIAL NOTES:

1. Delays are expected on account of roadblock & weather conditions. Our effort will be to continue with the trip as per the schedule & make you as comfortable as possible. But in such situations, we may have to compromise & adjust to these situations then & there.

2. The distances & time mentioned in the above trip information are to the best of our knowledge; marginal variance in the actual distances & time is possible. 

3. The walking time mentioned does not include the rest periods taken en-route.

4. Grade: Easy

These trails are ideal for adults and children above a minimum age of 08 and above and are very easy. It is good for people doing trips for the first time. We recommend such trails for families since it can be a good way to introduce children to the outdoors. These involve walking on easy well-defined trails. Basic physical fitness is a must.

GENERAL TRIP INFORMATION:

FOOD:

We stop enroute for breakfast and high tea. As per the region we are going to, the infrastructure for these facilities varies. We do our best to provide you with a neat, clean & hygienic place for these breaks. 

Dry packed lunch will typically consist of: 200ml tetra pack of fruit juice, fruit, chocolate, cheese sandwich, thepla, curd, 01 pack of savoury.

TOUR LEADERS:

For Freespirit Treks, we have a tour leader traveling with the group. Besides having an experience in leading tours, they are a coordinator for the tour. All the tour leaders are trained in first aid, CPR and Basic Mountaineering. On all our trips we carry a comprehensive first aid kit as suggested by doctors. It would be advisable to speak to your tour leader in case of any health problems that you may face on the tour.

CANCELLATION BY CLIENTS:

• 100% refund if cancellation is done before the last date of registration.
• No refund if cancellation is done after the last date of registration.

CANCELLATION BY COUNTRYSIDE:

In case of a trek being called off by Countryside for any reason, Countryside will give a full refund. Alternatively, the same can be kept as credit with us and may be utilized in future for a time span of one year from the date of the receipt.
