For Trekkers, A Trek to Harishchandragad will always play on mind every time while trekking other forts. Its unarguably once in a life time experience that certainly comprises with physically draining climb but gives a satiating feel for every inch of climb after reaching the hill top.

Harishchandragad is located in Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra in Malshej ghats and has a powerful history behind. It was built in 6th century by Kalachuri dynasty. It was controlled by Moghuls as well and the mighty Marathas conquered it in 1747.

There are 4-5 routes to reach Harishchandragad fort; way from Khireshwar, way from Belpada, way from Kothale and also Nalichi vaat.

Harishchandragad has some of the best ancient places that includes 4-5 rock patches, steep mountains which lies at 80 degrees. Huge Ganesh Idol in the caves, Sapthatirtha Pushkarni, Kedareshwar Cave, Konkan kada (cliff), Taramati peak, caves of Harishchandragad and Harishchandreshwar Temple.

Trekking to Harishchandragad is like connecting directly to the Hindu mythology as it has been mentioned about in various puranas such as Matsyapurana, Agnipurana and Skandapurana.
