Meet Priyank and Yogesh. The men behind the Legend of Bombay Bards. It is a storytelling session with a bicycle tour in Mumbai. It all started when the two former batch mates of computer engineering decided to combine their passion for storytelling and travelling to places of history, arts, and culture.
Having organized multiple events now with the Legend of Bombay Bards, they share some points for you on how even you can try something new.
Priority and passion.
Both Yogesh and Priyank are computer engineers and have their hands full during the weekdays with work. But it is on the weekends that they take time out and plan and execute their passion. They believe that it is important to prioritize your work and equally give time to your passion when possible. It is your passion that keeps you motivated to try something different and something new.
Lessons learned.
If you also wish to be a story teller then the most important learning is that your audience will have fun, if you as hosts are enjoying yourself. The energy that you radiate pushes off on the group. So if you want your venture/event to be a success and want to give people a fantastic experience, you need to make sure you are giving your best and enjoying the process.
Advice.
One thing that they would like to share with all those who want to do something different in life is that you should listen to your heart, identify your strengths, have faith and just do it.
