ABOUT TUESDAYS WITH THE BARD @ URBAN SOLACE
Urban Solace - Your Cafe for the Soul is India's FIRST truly cultural cafe. Incorporated in 2009, Urban Solace has pioneered experiences in poetry, comedy, music, art, literature and more...
"Tuesdays with the Bard @ Urban Solace" is featured in the "Limca Book of Records 2016" as "The Longest Running Poetry Event in India".
Over the last 14+ years “Tuesdays with the Bard @ Urban Solace” poets have wrung tears of joy, nods of recognition, fleeting smiles, happy applause, wistful memories ... and several unforgettable poems.
ABOUT THE FEATURED POET: Oninthough
Oninthough is an award-winning poet & author, stand-up comedian, and artist, based out of Bangalore.
He is amongst the select few multilingual (trilingual) poets in India. He has written 500+ poems across three languages (English, Hindi, and Bengali). He was an Honorable Mention at India’s Next Big Writer, 2021. His debut novel “Ticking Thirty” won the Authors Gully Book Writing Competition, and was published in 2022. He also won the Ukiyoto Literary Award: Top 30 Books (Fiction) To Look Out For In 2022, and the Cinemura Award: Top 20 Books To Look Out For Film Adaptation in 2022, besides winning the Fireboxx Best Debut Author Award and the Fireboxx Best Fiction Book Award for the novel.
Oninthough is also a recipient of the 21st Century Emily Dickinson Award, for poetry. His second book was an anthology of poems, titled, “Midnight Musings of a Madman”, was published in 2023. He was also an Official Shortlist for the Wingword Poetry Prize, 2023. His third book “One By Two”, published in 2024, is the only body of bilingual work by an individual author in the country, and went on to win the Rabindranath Tagore Literature Award, and the Sahitya Sparsh Award.
