About the Event
Few pockets remain in Mumbai which preserve the native customs of the city before it became the urban behemoth that it is today. Worli Koliwada, populated by the Kolis, the original indigenous inhabitants of our city, is one such isolated pocket. Rich in age-old customs and traditions that are still preserved and nurtured by the Kolis, the Walk With Me project gives visitors an insight into the life of the Worli Koliwada gaothan.
The walk will also include a musical performance of traditional Koli songs by the well-known Koli folk singer Chintamani Shivdikar, accompanied by the beats of the Ghumat which is a traditional Koli pot drum.
Join us for a guided heritage walk to discover the life and legacy of the Kolis.

About :
Week 02 | Resident Curator T.M.Krishna
The often-used phrase ‘Art transcends Boundaries’ has become an axiom. However, the truth is that it is not art but the artist who enables a limitless embrace. The contours of an artistic creation are in the artist’s hands. The agency of art is truly that of the artist. Only when the artist intends it does art become a powerful transformative body that questions, teases, and brings down societal barricades.
